No, we didn't see any bears!

Since we've been having 70+ degree weather here lately, I decided to take Hannah on a hike the other day. We drove up to a place called "Lair O' the Bear." There were a few nice trails and we picked one of the shorter ones. Even though it was only a mile or so, it took a long time because we stopped a lot to look at things and Hannah wanted to poke around with her stick in the dirt. There was also a little creek with a few ducks swimming around in it. Towards the end we found a bench to sit down on and Hannah said, "hiking is fun, Mom!"

making Hannah happy

If you want to make Hannah happy, all that you have to do is take her to Noodles & Company and order some Wisconsin Mac & Cheese. Way better than out-of-the box.

----------------------------------

Me: What makes you happy?

Hannah: I don't know. Swans, probably.

----------------------------------

Hannah: Mom, what button did you just push? (on the elevator)

Me: 11

Hannah: Oh. When you push that I say 1 to 1. That's 1 to 1.

(laughter from other person riding the elevator)

----------------------------------

Me: What did you dream about last night?

Hannah: Cupcakes and rice.

----------------------------------

(we were playing an animal guessing game)

Hannah: This animal goes sssssssssssss.......it lives in a dark and spooky cave- it's not stinky.

Me: A snake?

Hannah: Yes. Snakes are a little snakey.

crafty

Look at what my sister Robyn made for Hannah. These slippers are so cute! When Hannah opened the package she said "Mom, these are wonderful!" The last crafty thing that I did was to print out some Diego clip-art onto full sheet label paper for Hannah- homeade stickers are way cheaper!

Thanks Heidi

My sister, Heidi, posted this on her blog and although she just barely sent me a surprise in the mail, I wanted to get in on this challenge. So....the first 3 people to leave a comment on this post will receive, at some point during the year a special treat from me. What it will be and when it will arrive is a total surprise! (But it will be sooner than later!) The catch is that you must participate as well. Before you leave your comment, write up a pay it forward post on your blog to keep the fun going. Then come back, let me know you're going to play and sit back and look forward to the arrival of some delicious treat in the mail or at your door.

Weekend Happenings at the Kids Expo

Hannah riding "Roy"
Hannah looking a little uneasy. She probably gets this from me. I've never been a huge fan of horses, probably because they are so much bigger than me. Whenever I get around them I'm afraid they'll bite me or step on me. I was ok with these ponies.

going down the huge inflatable slide with Ryan

I can't believe Hannah enjoyed the petting zoo so much- she practically chased around these goats!

Valentine Fun

When you have a child that wakes up when it's still dark outside, this is what you get for breakfast on Valentine's Day...... heart-shaped cold cereal with pink milk. In the morning we took Hannah to the Children's Museum which has a lot of really fun things for kids to explore:

Hannah went grocery shopping

made a deep-dish pizza

made a valentine

planted a garden

ate some Pirate's Booty

During Hannah's nap I baked off three kinds of mini cupcakes- red velvet, coconut, and cinnamon toast. Then we ended the day with "The Little Mermaid." When we were watching the movie on my bed Hannah leaned over to me, gave me a huge hug and a smile and said, "Mom, it's so fun to watch a movie with you." Thanks Bosco.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hannah and Brewer had fun today baking and decorating Valentine's Day cupcakes. Of course, more frosting and candies went into the mouth than on the cupcakes!
